British Gas

British Gas are putting their prices up 18%..  I'm with British Gas..  and my central heating won't be going on this Winter, as I know I won't be able to afford it. I feel we need to re-nationalise British Gas, so they are working for the national good, and not shareholders who are making massive profits. 

British Gas states the rises are because of instability in fuel costs, however it's not just that, BG have to develop alternative fuel sources (solar, wind etc) because of government directives; The cost of which is passed on the customer. 

In a nationalised industry those high profits could be used to fund development of alternatives, so the cost wouldn't need to be funded by the customer.
